A Threaded Coupling is a threaded joint of a drill pipe that offers high strength to the threaded connections. It is placed on the drill pipe that is used to drill a wellbore. These couplings are also known as tool joints. They help to withstand multiple cycles of tightening that lead to loosening of the threads during the drilling process. They are made up of steel, aluminum or titanium and have a large diameter as well as a small diameter section that strongly holds the pipe. It may be welded to the pipe or can be screwed to the pipe as per the requirements.
