Process Engineering is a study of engineering that focuses on the design and optimization of biological and chemical processes. It translates the needs of customers to value added components that are further transported to the next step of the supply chain. To meet the needs efficiently, the engineering begins with a block diagram and then proceeds to a process flow diagram. The block diagram shows raw materials used and transformations required whereas the process flow diagram shows material flow paths, flow rates, and a list of pipes and conveyors used in the process.
