The Midstream division of petroleum organizations is responsible for the transportation of oil and gas products from the production sites to the processing sites. The department primarily acts as a pipeline between the other two divisions, i.e., Upstream and Downstream.

Organizations that are a part of the midstream division of the petroleum industry are responsible for the transportation, occasional processing and management of the oil products. The department’s primary job includes transportation of oil (raw or processed), processing, storage and further transportation. Organizations that are a part of midstream are pipeline, ships, trucks and rail providers, which provide their services for the safe commuting of the finished product.
